Within PPK, each practice supports teams across the globe with deep expertise and knowledge. Our practices play a critical role in Bain’s commercial success and are a key strategic priority.

The Customer Strategy & Marketing (CS&M) Practice is a global capability that works across all of Bain’s industries.  It is comprised of various products including Loyalty and Net Promoter System (NPS), Employee Engagement (eNPS), Customer Experience, Pricing, Sales & Channel Excellence, Commercial Excellence, Marketing Excellence, Brand Strategy, and Insights & Segmentation.  The Practice is one of the fastest growing capabilities at Bain.



Knowledge Specialists play an essential role in supporting Bain’s ability to deliver outstanding results for our clients. We are looking for an individual who has a strong interest in working to optimize knowledge capture operations and support, can run our end-to-end knowledge management processes, play a leadership role in coordinating with other practices, and work closely with the practice leadership on projects supporting operations and product development.

This position is a full-time role supporting our Customer Strategy and Marketing Practice with a focus on the EMEA region and reporting into the EMEA Practice Senior Consultant.  Our preferred location is Warsaw and Munich.


  • Manage and coordinate the capture and sharing of Bain’s CS&M knowledge base.
    • Work with case teams and senior practice affiliates to understand work and solicit most relevant content
      • Capture and process knowledge onto Bain’s global intranet platform from client development and case efforts
      • Coordinate with other Knowledge Specialists to identify cross-practice content priorities and identify gaps in the knowledge base
      • Manage metadata to facilitate user searching
    • Help package and codify Bain’s best thinking into insights, consistent with Bain’s confidentiality guidelines
    • Manage and maintain practice page(s) on Bain’s intranet; ensure best materials are represented and shared


  • Develop product expertise to support partners and other members of the consulting staff with Bain’s best intellectual property.

    • Respond to requests by identifying existing knowledge and relevant content, or by customizing materials, to support client selling and serving activities
    • Direct to the most relevant experts, reference case teams, or other known sources
    • Assist with proposal development in select situations (e.g. credentials)


  • Support the practice leadership and practice managers as they execute the practice strategy and manage practice operations.
    • Track and analyze underlying drivers of practice performance (e.g. revenue and pipeline analysis) and aid in strategic planning process Assist with the content planning and logistics for annual practice meetings
    • Support practice affiliate engagement, including the preparation for experience sharing calls and publications
    • Review Knowledge Management and other metrics to improve how Bain captures and shares its intellectual property


  • Serve as a member of Bain’s global PPK department, in line with Bain’s Operating Principles.
    • Direct, coach, and oversee a junior practice member’s work (usually a Knowledge Associate based in New Delhi)
    • Regularly communicate issues and progress to Manager(s)
    • Demonstrate flexibility with the changing dynamic of industry, the leadership, and commercial demands for knowledge
    • Contribute as a member of PPK and the larger Bain community (e.g. participates in PPK group projects, training, experience sharing, mentoring and other initiatives, etc.)


  • Minimum BA or equivalent undergraduate degree with strong academic credentials
  • Preferred 4 to 6 years of experience (minimum 3+), ideally in a professional services firm environment, with exposure to one or more of the following disciplines: knowledge management, research, strategic planning/analysis, business development, consulting, or project management; previous experience in Customer Strategy and/or Marketing is a plus

  • Business-level English language spoken and written skills required; a strong level of local office language preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word; and desire to learn new tools like Alteryx and Tableau
